Create a rich area

The rich zone is a polygon to which you can add varied content (description, image, redirect link, tags...).

This feature is ideal when your content concerns not a single location but a territory, an extended area.

Step 1: Create your polygon

Prerequisite: On the Wemap tool, the list allows you to link your content (here your polygons) to your maps, the container. It is therefore essential to group your rich zones in a list via the "Linked list" input field.

You can find an existing list or create one by clicking the + button.

Then name your polygon.

Step 1-1: Add content to it

The content creation tool allows you to format your text, create paragraphs by inserting separators, add one or multiple images (in URL format), insert one or more redirect link(s)...

You can also stylize your content in HTML.

πŸ’‘ To simplify the creation of your routes, you can group the content in an Excel spreadsheet to easily copy/paste between your file and the platform. Then use the clear formatting button to standardize all your content.

Once the description is completed, you can associate tags with your route to allow your users to refine their search.

πŸ’‘ Enter your tags one by one and don't forget to validate by pressing the enter key.

Step 1-2: Import or draw then stylize the polygon

You can draw your polygon with the drawing tool, or import it in GeoJson, KML, GPX format.

⚠️ You can only create one polygon at a time.

Step 2: Manage your list of polygons

Once your polygons are created, you will find their list in the Manage > My lists menu.

There you can determine the point icon, and choose to display the display mode on the map (thumbnail or icon).

Step 3: Edit the polygon

Once your polygon is created, you can evolve it and/or make modifications to it. Go to the Manage menu then My zones. Select the zone concerned, when you click you return to the initial creation tool, it is then possible to modify the description, the style of the polygon...

Step 4: Add the rich zones to your map

You simply need to add the list to which they belong to your map.

πŸ’‘ It is possible, on the same map, to link different sources and types of content: a list of points created via a spreadsheet file, a list of rich zones...

πŸ’‘ Your list of rich zones can also be attached to multiple maps.

Step 4-1: Manage tags

When creating your polygon, you may have determined tags to allow filtered search for your users: they are configured from the map options.
