Manage the privacy of my content

When creating your map and points, you can manage the privacy settings for your content, choosing whether or not to make it visible and reusable by other users.

By default, the content you create on your Wemap Pro tool is set to โ€œSharedโ€, meaning it is visible to all users but cannot be reused by a third party on another map (see details below).

๐Ÿ”’ Overview of privacy statuses

There are 3 statuses you can apply to your content:

  • Public

The content is visible to all users and can be reused on other maps without being modified.

Example: each year, on the occasion of Heritage Days, the Ministry of Culture creates the program map with Wemap and populates it with lists of events by region. You can then reuse one of these lists to populate your own program.

  • Shared

The content can only be visible if the point list and the map were created by the same Wemap Pro account.

Your content is visible without restriction but it cannot be reused by a third party on their own Wemap map.

  • Private

The content is only visible to people authorized to connect to your map. Even if they have the link to your map, it is "empty" for other users.

๐Ÿ“‹ Changing the status of your list

  1. Find the relevant list: "Manage" > "My lists"
  2. Click on the 3 dots, at the end of the line, and click on "Change status"
  3. Select the desired status

๐Ÿ“Changing the status of your points

  1. Enter the content of your list
  2. Select your points (individually or in bulk)
  3. Click on "Actions" > "Change status"
  4. Select the desired status

๐Ÿ“Œ Please note:

It is possible to define a status for all or part of the points in a list. This is why it is advisable to check the status of your points even after changing the status of your list.
