Display your points at different sizes on the map

If you want to differentiate points on your map to make them more visible through their size, you can set up display rules based on zoom level and tags.

This way, your main points of interest will be visible at first glance on the map.

⚠️ Prerequisite:

This operation requires that you have properly associated tags with your points beforehand, from your points list, during mapping.

πŸ“ Setting point size on the map

  1. Access your map
  2. Go to the map's "Formatting" menu
  3. Click on "Edit display rules", in "Point display rules", at the bottom of the page

A new window opens to edit the display rules:

  1. Click on "Add a rule"
  2. Configure your display rule:
    • Rule type: select "Size"
    • Tags: add the tag(s) you want to link to this rule
    • Minimum zoom: specify the smallest zoom level at which points should be displayed (by default, it is set to 2).
    • Maximum zoom: specify the largest zoom level at which points should be displayed (by default, it is set to 18).
    • Size: specify the size of the point on the map if it has one of the associated tags and the map respects the configured zoom level (by default, it is set to 1).

πŸ‘‰ Example: if I configure the "culture" tag with a minimum zoom 10 / maximum 18 and a size 2, all my points with the "culture" tag will be displayed on my map with a larger size than the others starting from zoom 10.

πŸ“Œ Please note:

  • In the example above, some points display thumbnails rather than icons but this is not directly related to the configuration of this rule: you can configure this type of display when creating a list.
  • You can combine multiple rules and configure the display of points according to different criteria and with different sizes.
