Create and customize a welcome pop-in or introduction card

A user can quickly feel lost on a map with a lot of content.

To avoid this, we've developed a customizable welcome module: it opens when the user lands on a map and invites them to choose their preferences to filter content on the map.

πŸ”› Enable the welcome pop-in from Wemap Pro

  1. Go to your map
  2. Go to the "Layout, controls and map launch" menu
  3. Check the "Enabled" option in the "Introduction card" section

πŸͺ„ Customize the pop-in

  1. Click on "Customize": a window appears to customize the pop-in content
  2. Customize it:
    • Header (cover) and icon: upload visuals of your choice to style your pop-in
    • Title: enter the pop-in title
    • HTML content: add a description if you wish

πŸ’‘ Tips:

  • The ideal dimensions for importing a visual are as follows:
    • Header (banner): 400 x 133 px
    • Icon: 60 x 60 px
  • For the description, you can use HTML tags to format and style your information, add links, images and even embed a video.
  1. Add search modules / filters:
    • Enable the relevant module(s)
    • Customize the module title and description

E.g. for the "Tags" module, you can change "Define your preferences" and "Choose one or more themes" as you wish.

    • Once customized, when the user clicks on the module (screenshot 1), a new window appears to refine your search (screenshot 2).

Module overview:

    • Tags: allows you to search by keywords according to a list of tags defined for your map.

    • Where: allows the user to select an address via a search engine to center the map on a city.

    • When: allows you to display a calendar to select dates.

    • Around me: displays points located around the user's geographic position

πŸ“Œ Note:

You can change the order of modules from the customization window.

If you enable multiple modules, as many steps will be offered in the pop-in: they will then be displayed in the order you defined.
