Stylize the display of categories on the map
From Wemap Pro, you can modify the display style of categories to make your objects more visual on the map.
π₯οΈ Access the category modification page
- Go to your map
- Verify that the venue and the POI list are properly associated with it: if not, associate them
- Go to the "Formatting" menu, then "Category Display"
- Click on "Modify category display"
Your different categories are displayed:

π Please note:
Settings can be configured for 3 types of actions, similarly or differently:
- Default: display style applied by default, without performing any action
- Selected: display style applied when clicking on a POI
- Highlighted: display style applied when searching for the POI
Edit display by category
- Click on the pencil icon of the category you want to style: a customization popup appears allowing you to configure the elements
- Enable or disable:
- Shape display
- Label display
- Customize the different sections:

Shape type:
π These settings apply to the associated category icon that displays on the map.
- Shape type: pin (round with downward point), round (circle), square
- Shape color: color and opacity
- Shape size: manual adjustment

Label:
π These settings apply to the associated category name that displays on the map.
- Label font: select one of the fonts offered in the dropdown list
- Label color: color and opacity
- Label size: manual adjustment

Polygon color:
π These settings apply to the polygon associated with the category that displays on the map (the polygon takes the settings of the category associated with it).
- Polygon color: color and opacity
- Polygon outline color: color and opacity
- Polygon outline thickness: manual adjustment

Visibility:
π These settings apply to all the previous elements that display on the map.
- Minimum zoom
- Maximum zoom
- Click on "Save"

π Here is an example of rendering on the livemap if you change the polygon color for "Selected" (orange) and "Highlighted" (blue):

π‘ Tip:
If you want to adopt the same style settings for different categories:
- Click on the "Copy style" icon of the already configured category
- Access the new category concerned by clicking on the pencil icon
- Click on the "Paste style" icon

Edit default display (template)
If you edit a default display, it will be applied to categories for which you have not defined a display.
- Click on "Edit"
- Select the action type (default, selected, highlighted)
- Follow the same procedure presented above

You can then apply a template in bulk to multiple categories.
