🌍 Evaneos: how Wemap maps integration enriches the traveler experience and streamlines the user journey on the e-commerce site

Whether in the travel industry or any other field, the map is no longer just a location tool, it becomes a real lever for exploration and immersion.

It is with this in mind that Evaneos (travel agency), wanted to integrate it at different stages of the user journey to help them prepare their trip.

Everything fully customized to match their brand colors, without redesigning the existing architecture, with dynamic content that adapts in real time, thanks to our SDK.

  • Interactive maps to explore destinations and their location

On each "Destination" page, the map becomes an entry point to discover a territory.

Each tourist region is materialized by interactive zones on the map, accompanied by a visual, a description and a redirect link to the associated page in the sidebar.

πŸ‘‰ How to set up zones with the SDK?

The SDK allows you to start from a blank map background, then directly inject your geo-data to display polygons or geo-entities on the map. To learn how to do this: Add polygons & polylines.

But it doesn't stop there: once on the region page, a new map also allows the user to visualize must-see places to visit with illustrated pinpoints, information and also a deeplink to access the location details.

And the mechanism is then the same for the location page.

πŸ‘‰ How to add points with the SDK?

To inject points on the map via the SDK, you can use the Livemap.setPinpoints method, then customize them as you wish by following the example in our developer documentation: Add point.

Additionally, you can customize the shape and color of your pinpoints using CSS.

☞ The goal: make navigation smooth, the visual appealing and access to up-to-date information quick for the user.

  • A route map synchronized in real time

All itinerary ideas offered by the travel agency are made available in list form, enriched with an interactive map synchronized in real time, dynamically and without page reload, thanks to integration via the native JavaScript SDK.

When hovering over the route in the list, the corresponding pinpoint is automatically highlighted on the map for a more efficient experience.
